The academic life at The Island Academy is one like no other! We strive to challenge our students to be the best person they can be. Our curriculum excels both national and international standards. We schedule our classes around the traditional Belizean grade level system, Infant 1 - Standard 6. Additionally, we offer a Beginners program that is the equivalency of Kindergarten.

Here is a rough equivalent to the United States grade level system.

• Beginners -- Kindergarten
• Infant 1 -- First Grade
• Infant 2 -- Second Grade
• Standard 1 -- Third Grade
• Standard 2 -- Fourth Grade
• Standard 3 -- Fifth Grade
• Standard 4 -- Sixth Grade
• Standard 5 -- Seventh Grade
• Standard 6 -- Eighth Grade
