Teachers arrive at school before students, typically by 7:45am. They begin to prepare and set up for the day. Once students begin arriving, teachers may be available for morning tutoring and homework assistance. Some teachers are outside monitoring and checking-in with students until the bell rings. The bell rings at 8:25am, which is when students line up for flag and morning assembly.
Class time varies and changes year to year, but usually it goes as follows. Mathematics class is from 9:00am - 10:15am. Language Arts class is from 10:35am - 12:00pm. After lunch, class time varies in Science, Social Studies, Health, Spanish, PE, Music, Computers, and Art. Teachers are responsible for having an engaging and rigorous plan ready for each lesson.
Break is from 10:15am - 10:35am. Lunch is from 12:00pm - 12:45pm. Teachers rotate schedules to monitor students during break and lunch. Formal Lunch is served on Wednesdays and is a time to engage in a community meal. All teachers and students participate in Formal Lunch under the palapa.
School ends at 3:00pm, while PE is taught Monday - Wednesday 3:00pm-4:00pm. Teachers are permitted to leave at 4:00pm each day. Most teachers provide after school tutoring during their own time.
